Registration of Marriage Officers

All persons wishing to perform marriages in this Island must be registered as a Marriage Officer.

What are the requirements for registration as a Marriage Officer?

  • The applicant must be an ordained minister and be affiliated to a religious denomination.
  • The applicant must complete an application form. Application forms may be obtained from the Records Branch of the Registration Department. The appropriate form may also be downloaded from the Application Forms link on this website.
  • The application form must be signed by the applicant and the Head of the Denomination;
  • The completed application forms must be returned to the Records Branch of the Registration Department which then submits it to the Ministry of Home Affairs for approval.

Is there a fee for registration as a Marriage Officer?

Registration is free of cost.
